Spiritual Life

The Cedars welcomes and respects those of all faiths and beliefs, whether or not they are part of an organized religious group.

For those who care to participate in spiritual activities at The Cedars, we offer a variety of activities as well as general support and counsel for all residents and staff.

Residents are not required to participate in such activities, although for many they provide an added dimension to life at The Cedars.

Events related to spiritual life include:

  • Chapel services every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 9:30 a.m. in the Health Care Center Chapel. These 30-minute services include music and a speaker, usually members of the local Ministerial Alliance, pastors from churches where our residents worship or Lay speakers sometimes share life experiences.
  • Bible Study is offered at a variety of times and locations on campus.
  • Sunday Evening Worship is at 6:00 pm at The Courts.
  • Pastoral care is provided for all those hospitalized.
  • Communion is served the last Wednesday of the month. All are welcome to attend. Eucharistic ministers from local churches are welcomed & invited to serve communion to their respective members.
  • Area wide churches are invited to make use of The Cedars Chapel or other facilities on campus for small group experiences.
  • A memorial service is held once every six months for residents who have passed away in previous months. Family members, residents and staff are invited to join this service.
  • A Bereavement Support Group is held on campus.

Although numerous spiritual activities are offered at The Cedars, residents are encouraged to remain connected to their own congregations as much as possible.
